Barbara Ann Corcoran

 Barbara Ann Corcoran was born March 10 1949. She is an American investor, speaker and consultant. The Corcoran Group is a New York City-based real-estate brokerage. In 2001, it was sold to NRT at $66 million. Corcoran resigned from the company shortly thereafter. One of the show's original "Shark" investors, Corcoran has appeared in the entire 12 seasons of ABC's Shark Tank to date. In February 2020 Corcoran had signed 53 deals, with the biggest being a $350,000 deal that included 40 percent of Coverplay. Corcoran, who was the second of 10 children from a Catholic family with a low-income was born in Edgewater in New Jersey. Florence was her mother, who was a homemaker. Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. became her father throughout Corcoran's childhood. In times, her family relied upon deliveries of food for free from a local grocer. Corcoran remembers her father as one who sometimes consumed too much alcohol and did her mother a disservice and sneer, especially after he'd consumed alcohol. Corcoran struggled at school, and was later told that she was dyslexic. Corcoran was educated at an Catholic elementary school, and later began high school in Englewood at St. Cecilia High School. After failing several courses in her first year of high school, Corcoran transferred to Leonia High School in Leonia, where she was a D-student when she graduated.
